''In-DEPTH Texas Sculpture Group Member Exhibition''

A variety of techniques are represented this season in ''In-DEPTH Texas Sculpture Group Member Exhibition'' at the Art Car Museum. Houston's own James Ciosek has a rather explosive one: He fires guns at a piece of metal until the unassuming bulls' eye becomes something he calls art. ''It's a lot like shooting off fireworks,'' Ciosek says of his technique. ''It's exciting and there is a certain amount of unpredictability to what's going to come out the other side of the art. And it is totally Texan, although it's rooted in my attempt to come up with truly random patterns for the art, which is something you really can't do by hand.'' Ciosek''s original art car, FrankenNova, and his The Auto and The Sea are also part of the exhibit. Some 50 sculptors contribute works to the exhibit, including Jerolyn Bahm Colombik (Goat), Greg Reuter (OSO Black Bird).
