Where to Eat on Valentine's Day

Enjoy a four-course meal with add-on options for the main course, such as an Oscar topping or port wine and mushroom sauce, and even an ounce of Petrossian caviar. Conclude the evening with a choice of cheesecake, carrot cake or Valentine's chocolates — whatever suits your fancy.

Tony Mandola's

This Valentine's, Tony Mandola's will offer a four-course dinner with a complimentary glass of Champagne for $149 per couple. First-course options include broiled oysters, tuna tartare or roasted quail; second-course selections include an arugula salad with candied pecans, balsamic vinaigrette and gorgonzola cheese, or a beet salad with EVOO, a peppercorn gastrique and local chèvre. Feast on pan-seared scallops with risotto; veal scallopini with capers, artichokes and kalamata olives; or surf and turf of lobster and a 6-ounce filet mignon. Delight yourselves in a chocolate raspberry truffle with crushed pistachios or a light coconut panna cotta for dessert.

Bistro Provence

On Thursday, February 13, and Friday, February 14, Bistro Provence will serve a $65 per person three-course meal with seatings every half-hour from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., and one final seating at 9 p.m. The dinner has been divided into three sections: The Seduction (first course), The Passion (second course) and Happily Ever After (dessert). Begin the meal with a selection of foie gras crème brûlée, lobster bisque, baked oysters or a Belgian endive salad with walnuts, then order a main course of honey and tarragon duck breast, lemon sole and seafood vol-au-vent, or a filet mignon with ­cocoa sauce. End on a sweet note with either anise-poached pear with cinnamon and Champagne sabayon or Elias's Surprise. Each party will receive a complimentary glass of sparkling rosé with dessert.

Sorrel Bistro

Fill up your stomachs with a six-course prix fixe meal on Valentine's Day at Sorrel Bistro, or simply order off of the special à la carte menu. The prix fixe menu will begin with seared Gulf Coast scallops served over a potato cake, followed by plates of Texas T wagyu ribeye sashimi, marinated jumbo lump crab cake with avocado, sweet corn sorbet and ossetra caviar, duck confit bruschetta with vanilla oil on rye toast, and slow-roasted prawns with a soft-poached quail egg and crab bisque. The meal concludes with a sweet brandied cherry chocolate cake with cardamom whipped cream. The meal costs $100 and can be upgraded with wine pairings for an additional $30.

Texas de Brazil

If you truly want a feast for Valentine's Day, might we suggest you reserve a spot at Texas de Brazil? Along with meat carved table-side and the never-ending salad bar, you and your date can enjoy special cocktails, such as the Brazilian Rose, made with guava juice, Grand Marnier and cachaça, or the Brazilian Kiss, made with Ciroc vodka, Cointreau, Chambord and lime juice, as well as the special sparkling moscato for the evening from Terra Andina for $10 per glass and $40 a bottle. Dessert options include a Brazilian cheesecake, triple-layer chocolate mousse cake, key lime pie, bananas Foster pie, flan carrot cake, coconut cheese pie, pecan pie, papaya crème and crème brûlée.

Harvest Organic Grille

For $49 per person, you and your valentine can enjoy a four-course meal complete with hors d'oeuvres such as salmon and caviars with crostini and cheese puree, walnut and goat cheese-filled dates, and organic beet hummus. After you snack on baked zucchini cakes, dream veggie puffs or Mediterranean meatballs for the mid-course, choose from lamb chops, salmon, steak and a vegetable casserole for the main course. End with a chocolate cake and chocolate-dipped strawberries for dessert.

The Bird & The Bear

Just as its sister restaurant, Ouisie's Table, is doing, The Bird & The Bear will offer its special Valentine's menu February 14-16. This à la carte menu features lobster bisque, fried oysters, crab cakes for two, goat cheese salad, chicken piccata, smoked double pork chop, shrimp and cheese grits, and four incredibly sweet and divine desserts: lemon meringue, banana chocolate cake, raspberry cheesecake and dulce de leche parfait.
