Part of August Wilson’s ten-part Pittsburgh Cycle, the Pulitzer Award-winning drama Fences is being mounted at the University of Houston—Downtown’s O’Kane Theatre. Chronicling the difficult relationship between an African American father and son, Fences is set in the late 1950s. A veteran of the Negro League, the father is a disillusioned and embittered garbage collector who missed out on the integration of baseball. Tom Lyttle directs.
