Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center’s Encore Players perform The Merry Wives of Windsor by William Shakespeare, a comedy of chicanery and planned seductions that go amusingly awry. The wives, who are not only merry but wise as well, turn the tables on the scheming Sir John Falstaff, one of the bard’s most vivid characters.
Merry Wives is directed by Joshua Schorejsof, and performed outdoors in Central Green Park at LaCenterra. KVPAC’s artistic director, Gregory Magyar, says, “We are pleased to have this opportunity to work with Central Green as a partner in presenting Shakespeare in Katy. The Merry Wives of Windsor was the perfect fit for this new partnership. Its lighthearted tone, cast of colorful characters and outrageous plot drew us to select this as KVPAC’s first outdoor presentation. Quite simply, we want to offer a delightful evening in the park.”
