Take your mother out this year.

On the Menu

It feels like just yesterday we were rounding up the places to eat on Easter. Now it's time to help you decide where to take Mom out on her special day. A multitude of Houston restaurants are opening their doors on Sunday, May 11, to serve brunch, lunch and/or dinner. So be a planner and make reservations as soon as you can to ensure Mom gets to eat at her favorite restaurant. Although quality time and love show how much you care about your mother, treating her to a delicious meal does, too.

024 Grille will serve its Mother's Day brunch from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. for $55 per adult, $45 per senior and $25 for children ages six to 12 (children five years and younger eat for free). Each mother will receive a complimentary mimosa to go along with various breakfast-station items: omelettes, eggs Benedict, pastries, pancakes and more. Other brunch items are grilled salmon and seared chicken breast, cheese and charcuterie boards, lamb chops, and bagels with smoked salmon. For dessert, dip strawberries, pineapple, marshmallows, bananas and dried apricots into the chocolate fountain, or enjoy fruit and white chocolate mousse parfaits, petits fours, macaroons, truffles and slices of cake.

60 Degrees Mastercrafted will serve a brunch buffet from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. for $47 per adult and $15 for children ages 12 and under. Armin Safari will provide live music throughout the morning and afternoon.

Both Américas locations will serve a Mother's Day brunch from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The menu includes a variety of Américas brunch dishes, such as beef tenderloin, a whole roasted pig, waffles, pancakes, empanadas, crepes, smoked salmon, and an assortment of pastries and desserts. Both locations will serve brunch for $49 per adult and $15 per child seven to 11 years old.

Amerigo's Grille

Amerigo's Grille, located just outside The Woodlands, will serve an à la carte Mother's Day brunch from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. featuring classic Amerigo's brunch dishes and special chef-prepared spring dishes. Pair any of these with Champagne, mimosas or sangria italiana. Children's menus are available as well.

Artisans

Treat Mom to a five-course Mother's Day lunch from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. for $95 per person. The meal begins with an amuse-bouche of smoked salmon with asparagus, cucumber, shallots, crispy potatoes, boiled quail eggs, fried dill and chervil. Next, enjoy foie gras with fig demi-glace and duck confit ravioli, followed by butter-poached lobster and crawfish in a puff pastry, and a third course of wild mushroom and foie gras beef Wellington with pomme croquette, asparagus and a purée of carrots. End the meal with chocolate mousse prepared with Grand Marnier, candied oranges and espresso powder.

Arturo's Uptown Italiano

Arturo's Uptown Italiano will serve its traditional brunch items, plus a few special dishes, à la carte from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Regular brunch offerings include Caprese salad, fried calamari, a vegetable frittata, salmon and poached eggs over whole-wheat pancakes with goat cheese, and a pancake-stack lasagna with eggs, cheese, sausage, bacon and a béchamel sauce. Don't forget about the bellinis and Italian mimosas.

Backstreet Cafe

Make a reservation at Backstreet Cafe for a three-course brunch. The special will be offered from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. for $48 per adult and $15 per child ages ten and under. Chef Hugo Ortega is preparing a variety of appetizers, including fried green tomatoes with crab meat rémoulade, and a summer vegetable garden salad with heirloom tomato, roasted corn, grilled zucchini, black olives and goat cheese tossed in a tart lemon vinaigrette. Entrée options range from bacon-wrapped quail with brussels sprouts and white cheddar-chive mashed potatoes to eggs Benedict with soft-shell crab, roasted potatoes and asparagus. For dessert, treat Mom to a blackberry clafoutis with almonds or a chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream.

Benjy's in the Village

The Rice Village Benjy's location will serve a three-course prix fixe Mother's Day brunch for $38 per person from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Begin with nut-crusted French toast with chamomile whipped cream, Texas molasses and marinated blackberries, then move on to crunchy chicken and dumplings, or grilled snapper with masa spoonbread. Dessert options include Mom's chocolate cake with berries and vanilla bean ice cream, a frozen dessert trio and peach crème brûlée.

Benjy's on Washington

Treat Mom to a three-course prix fixe brunch at Benjy's on Washington for $38 per person from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The menu features first-course options of French toast stuffed with bourbon mascarpone, strawberries and rhubarb, as well as crispy fish and chips with miso peppers and a tarragon aioli. Second-course options include green tomato Benedict with goat cheese and roasted beets, as well as lamb schnitzel with a mint pesto, smoked yam puree and Asian slaw. Finish the meal with chocolate cake à la mode, blackberry shortcake or an almond milk sorbet with melons and caramel.

Bistro des Amis

The meal begins with your choice of potato and leek soup, salad with heirloom tomatoes and a citrus vinaigrette, or scallops and mango carpaccio. Next, choose from lobster eggs Benedict, beef filet with foie gras sauce, or chicken basquaise. For dessert, order a chocolate and hazelnut mousse tart or a blueberry clafoutis.

Bradley's Fine Diner

Try a new restaurant and treat Mom to brunch at Bradley's Fine Diner, where each guest will receive a homemade rhubarb and lemon cream "Pop-Tart" before the meal begins. Choose from starter options like savory roasted onion-thyme dip, olive relish and fava hummus, or cured wild sockeye salmon with potato soufflé cakes. Move on to main dishes of "toad in the hole" made of toasted brioche with Dungeness crab and a farm egg topped with lemon-thyme hollandaise, or lemon buttermilk soufflé hotcakes with chicken apple sausage, pecan butter and Vermont maple syrup. The menu includes starter options such as baked brie in a puff pastry served with dried fruit and a baguette; raw bar options featuring smoked salmon with the works, Gulf shrimp, chilled oysters and Alaskan king crab; as well as hot entrées such as grilled chicken Florentine and baked ziti. Breakfast options include malted Belgian waffles, pastries, eggs Benedict and buttermilk pancakes. Finish the meal with something sweet like mini chocolate molten cakes or key lime tarts. Purchase flowers for Mom and have them waiting for her when she arrives; green vases cost $64.95 and clear vases are $89.95.

The Devine Affair will host a Mother's Day brunch from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. featuring a three-course prix fixe menu for $39.95 per adult and $20 per child 12 and under (children's menus are available). Begin with shrimp cocktail, zucchini and potato soup, or a spring spinach salad with caramelized pear, crumbled goat cheese and candied pecans tossed in honey dijon vinaigrette. Federal American Grill is offering two seatings for brunch on Mother's Day; the first is from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., and the second seating is from 1 until 2 p.m. For $45 per adult and $12 per child, Federal American Grill will serve a three-course prix fixe menu featuring first-course options of Caesar salad, roasted red pepper soup and fried oysters. Second-course dishes include braised short ribs with mushroom risotto, an Akaushi cheeseburger, and brioche French toast with an apple-blueberry compote. Desserts include bourbon bread pudding and crème fraîche cheesecake.

Funky Chicken

Funky Chicken will offer a Mother's Day brunch menu alongside its regular menu from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Order the chicken and waffles to your liking — go all out and get them smothered in mashed potatoes and chicken gravy. Funky Chicken is also offering biscuit sandwiches with chicken sausage, scrambled eggs and cheese, chicken fingers and cheese, or scrambled eggs and cheese. Each item is priced individually.

Georges Bistro

Choose from first-course options such as lobster bisque, salad with goat cheese toast and duck confit, escargot, or salmon and avocado terrine. Kiran's Restaurant and Bar

The menu features a cheese plate, Rockefeller oysters and a summer salad for the appetizers; ahi tuna, boeuf bourguignon and rib-eye steak for the main entrée; and fondant chocolate, chocolate cake with pistachio, and vanilla and coffee crème brûlée for dessert.

Sparrow Bar + Cookshop

Chef Monica Pope has created a three-course prix fixe menu for $35 per adult and a kids' menu for $15. First-course options include deviled eggs with crab Louie, carrot-roasted garlic-potato soup and shiitake mushroom dumplings with bleu cheese honey cream. Second-course options include sugar-cured salmon stacked with a potato cake, herb ­omelette, herbed mascarpone and pickled red onions; crispy chicken with potatoes, eggs Benedict with strip cut sirloin steak plus a spinach-bacon scone; and lamb meat loaf cupcakes served with yellow corn grits and a spicy red chile chutney. The Woodway location will serve a brunch buffet on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The buffet includes breakfast stations serving made-to-order pancakes and eggs, breakfast tacos, salads, omelettes, enchiladas and desserts. This brunch buffet costs $19.95 per person; don't forget about adding a mimosa for $5.

The Tasting Room — CityCentre

In honor of her mother, Phyllis Mandola, wife of Tony Mandola, will have Tony Mandola's serve a menu featuring Ninfa's orignal dishes and Mama Ninfa's favorite dishes on Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11. Enjoy seafood crepes filled with shrimp, crab meat and lobster; Sicilian-marinated pheasant breast stuffed with Parmesan and artichokes; shrimp and grits with mushrooms, bacon and spring onions; as well as the original tacos al carbon, chicken flautas and chimpancingas and empanadas filled with ham, pico de gallo and mozzarella cheese.
