Reverend Bryan Taylor is hoping he gets a couple dozen Santa Claus figures glued to his car in time for the
10th Annual Village Art Car Show, presented by the Houston Art Car Klub. So far he has a Santa hat on the roof and rows of Christmas lights, but he says it cant really be a Santa car without the figures. Like Taylor, many of the participating art car creators have produced several rolling pieces of art over the years. Taylors shown three Santa cars over the last decade, but there was also a pig car and homage to womens roller derby that he named
Machete Betty.
The annual event, perhaps the most popular car show at Traders Village, draws thousands of viewers. Think about it, says Taylor. The VW show draws mostly people who own VW cars, the same thing with those Minis. But the Art Car Show draws all sorts of people, people from every background and interest. People interested in art or in cars and especially in art cars come to the show. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 7979 North Eldridge Road. For information, call 281-890-5500 or visit www.tradersvillage.com. Free.
