A Christmas Unwrapped

The A.D. Players troupe is offering Houston a big gift in the form of a theatrical package of comedies. We mean that literally. "A Christmas Unwrapped is going to be a different surprise every night. It's a collection of four one-act plays, but each night we're only doing three of them," says Sarah Cooksey, an actress and marketing associate with the company. "The audience will choose a present to unwrap, and inside that will be three shows that we will perform that evening."

They're all comedies by Jeannette Clift George, company founder and artistic director, and they all take place at Christmas. There's everything from a show about a couple who have to figure out what to do when an angel falls on their balcony to a one-woman show about a woman's lifetime of holidays. Of course, half the fun will be in opening the package before the shows even start. 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Through December 30. 2710 West Alabama. For information, call 713-526-2721 or visit www.adplayers.org. $22 to $41.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: Nov. 17. Continues through Dec. 30, 2010
