The result is "Allison Hunter: Zoosphere," a gallery-size installation where viewers walk into a room and are surrounded by videos of animals - a constant theme for Hunter - on the walls and floor. Visitors will see images of an elephant, for example, gracefully fluttering one ear. Usually thought of as lumbering and slow-moving, suddenly the animal seems delicate. Other images show frogs jumping in and out of view, while sea creatures playfully glide through the waters. Oh, and if any of the animals look familiar, they just might be - Hunter often shoots her footage at the Houston Zoo.
What's next for Hunter? 3-D video? Holograms? "I'd love that," she says enthusiastically.
