By now you guys know that we love a good runway show, so imagine my excitement when this little gem popped up in our e-mail -- the Houston Galleria is hosting a three-day fashion event in September.
Yes! And, yay!
The Simon Fashion Show Now® event is scheduled to coordinate with the national Fashion's Night Out on September 8, 2011. Fashion's Night Out is an annual event, celebrated in cities across the U.S. and around the world, celebrating all things fashionable with live music, runway shows and cocktail parties. But the National Fashion's Night Out is just one night -- the Simon Fashion Show Now at the Galleria is three nights of fun. So what's on tap?
The festivities at the Galleria kick off on Thursday, September 8, with the official Fashion Night Out party. Participating Galleria retailers will offer special in-store events for savvy shoppers -- expect a few surprises along the way. The Fashion Night Out celebration will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. and will include high fashion lounges, live music and red carpet entrances.
Fashion Show Now continues on Friday September 9, with Trends & Friends Night, from 5 to 8 p.m. at ICE. Trends & Friends includes three runway shows:
• 5:30 p.m.: Macy's, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers & Brooks Brothers Women, Eddie Bauer, J. Jill, lululemon athletica, White House | Black Market • 6:30 p.m.: America Eagle Outfitters, Gap, GUESS, GUESS by Marciano, Hot Topic, Shasa, Steve Madden • 7:30 p.m.: Betsey Johnson, Caché, French Connection, Lucky Brand, Max Studio, Original Penguin, 7 for All Mankind
In a decidedly saving-the-best-for-last strategy, the Galleria invites shoppers to return on Sunday, September 10, for big savings at their favorite stores. In-store promotions and special discounts will be offered at stores hosting "Simon Fashion Now Style Shops," including Aveda, Bare Escentuals, Best Buy Mobile, L'Occitane, Sephora and Torrid. The Style Shops will offer interactive demonstrations of spring beauty trends -- and they are free. Visit your favorite stores between noon and 5 p.m. on Sunday to enjoy these special demos.
And if you're worried about falling in love with styles that aren't available yet -- don't be! The runway shows will feature looks that you can find now (hence the name) in stores. Head straight from the runway to your favorite retailer and take your favorite look home with you the same day.
