Muppets grow up and do the nasty in Robert Lopez and Jeff Marxs inspired, Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q. The coming-of-age comedy has a cast of puppets (and a handful of humans) who sing and frolic, but they arent at all kid-friendly. Theyve got names like Lucy the Slut and The Bad Idea Bears, and they like to have sex and talk about their sexual identities. The story focuses on Princeton, a kid who just graduated college with a B.A. in English. He moves to New York City and rents a place on the only street he can afford Avenue Q. Then he sets about trying to figure out his purpose in this world. Along the way, he makes friends with his neighbors and we get to hear tunes like If You Were Gay, Everyones a Little Bit Racist, and The Internet Is for Porn. Growing up can be so sweet! 8 p.m. at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, 800 Bagby. For information, call 713-629-3700 or visit
