Come Out with Sheryl

Recently, Houston Comets All-Star forward Sheryl Swoopes made headlines when she acknowledged that she's a lesbian. Some fans where aghast, while others were more like, "Well, duh." (After all, this is women's basketball.) But regardless of who Swoopes chooses to hop in the sack with, fact is she's a tremendous baller, sports figure and, potentially, club owner. Today, you can christen her new joint, Swoopes 22 Sports Bar & Night Club. The event, which is part opening and part Comets-game after-party, promises drinks, grub and DJs spinning dance, Top 40 and R&B. (We can't wait to see what the club's new Feline Fridays are all about.) This is the new place to be after every Comets game, but today's party gets rolling even before the game's out at 5 p.m.
Wed., May 3, 5 p.m.
