Theatre Suburbia gives Houston an early Christmas gift with the family comedy
Dear Santa, by Norm Foster and Steve Thomas. Set in Santa's North Pole workshop, the story follows the elves, who cope with a number of production problems. Santa apparently uses the "just-in-time" method of inventory control, as a missed shipment of glue threatens disaster.
There's Bozidar, Santa's mechanic, who delightfully garbles common expressions, such as "Mind your p's and cupids." There's also Santa's stuffy chief of staff, a hilarious housekeeper, a glib, aggressive salesman intent on selling Santa a rocket sleigh, and the big man himself. 8:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays. Through December 3. 4106 Way Out West Drive. For information, call 713-682-3525 or visit www.theatresuburbia.org. $12 to $14.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: Nov. 4. Continues through Dec. 3, 2011
