Fault Lines

Horse Head Theatre Company's a big tease. Their productions come few and far between, which makes each one special and eagerly awaited. The company's latest is Stephen Belber's Fault Lines, a suspenseful buddy drama in which a loudmouthed stranger barges into a birthday party being shared by two buddies. His insinuations elicit revelations neither guy means to share, and what was once private goes horribly public. The play opened off-Broadway in October 2008 to mixed reviews, though it was much praised for the taut direction by David Schwimmer (yes, Ross from Friends) and the clean, streamlined cast. The Houston cast, equally streamlined, will include Philip Lehl, Ivy Castle-Rush, Rick Silverman and Drake Simpson. Set in a neighborhood bar - literally and figuratively - the play features the joint-jumpin' band Plump supplying the original background score, as well as a pre-performance set. 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with an additional March 15 performance. Through March 27. Brewery Tap, 717 Franklin. For information, call 713-835-2467 or visit www.horseheadtheatre.org. $10 to $20.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Mon., March 15, 8 p.m. Starts: March 11. Continues through March 27, 2010
