Galveston Restaurant Week

You’ll have seven full days to enjoy the first-ever Galveston Restaurant Week, and you’ll need it. Some 30 eateries are participating, and all are offering signature multi-course meals.

Galindo’s, a longtime island mainstay, is serving up a three-course dinner for $45. You get your choice of shrimp bisque or salad to start, a variety of fish selections or filet mignon for the entrée, and pecan pie or banana bread Foster for dessert. (We suggest the baked oyster sampler; it features oysters in six different styles, including Rockerfeller, Monterrey and Asiago.)

Over at Mario’s Seawall Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria, dinner is just $20 and includes your choice of appetizer (seafood dip, meatball parmesan, bruschetta or a hearty salad). For the entrée, choose from spaghetti with meat sauce, fisherman’s stew, roasted chicken, baked ziti or a large pizza. Finish it all off with a gelato, Italian cream cake, tiramisu or cheesecake.
