Ars Lyrica's "Bachanalia 08-09" features Houston favorites Melissa Givens and Timothy Jones performing two Bach wedding cantatas and Baroque oboe virtuoso Kathryn Montoya performing a Bach concerto. Then ring in the New Year the old-fashioned way with champagne and delectable hors d'oeuvres at the gala reception and silent auction in the Hobby Center Founders Club. The show tickets are $45, $30 and $25; gala tickets are $45. The show starts at 9 p.m.
