Houston First Corporation, the entity that oversees the city's buildings, has announced that it will be able to reopen its underground parking garages in time for the H-E-B Thanksgiving Parade and the Alley Theatre's offering of A Christmas Carol.
The garages were flooded during Hurricane Harvey and it has taken all this time since the end of August to get them operational again — although they have not been fully restored, according to a press release from Houston First.
"Although the garages are operational, additional work remains before they are fully restored. The elevators in the garages remain inoperable. Trams will be available to shuttle those customers who need assistance. Customers should notify a garage attendant upon arrival, if they need this service."
The garage elevators are not working yet either. Anyone who needs help should ask a parking attendant for the garage tram service.
Parking on Thanksgiving Day will be available from 6 a.m. to noon.
November 24-26: Noon to 11 p.m.
November 27-28: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
November 29-30: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The cost to park is a flat fee of $12; hourly parking is not yet available.
