Jim Dale Reading

Jim Dale, the voice of the Harry Potter audiobooks, is making only five U.S. stops for Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows, and Houston is one of them. Blue Willow Bookshop bookseller Katie O’Sullivan says, “We are so excited. He has an entire show, he’s fantastic. He’s a very good entertainer.” Actually, Dale, who has voiced all seven Harry Potter books, is a record-breaking entertainer -- he’s in the Guinness Book of World Records for creating “Most Character Voices in an Audio Book” for the 134 voices he created for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Dale, a Grammy Award winner and successful stage actor, will discuss the process of recording the series, Harry’s final destiny and more. And if you’re worried you might be the only adult in a sea of ten-year-olds, don’t be. O’Sullivan says, “At least as many adults as kids will be at this event, maybe even more.”
