Kawaii Weekend at Oni-Con

Check out our slideshow of the sexiest costumes at Oni-Con.

Oni-Con, Houston's annual appreciation of all things Japanese pop culture and anime, moved to the beach this year with a stunning setting at the Galveston Island Convention Center, giving costume-clad superheroes and manga fans the perfect backdrop for their photos.

Oni-Con, which was founded in 2004, usually takes place in October, making it the perfect convention to celebrate Halloween. Though only in its eighth year, the gathering is known for its special guests, often big-names in the comic book and anime world. This year's guests included Rosearik Rikki Simons, voice of the adorably evil GIR robot sidekick from the animated Nickelodeon series Invader Zim, who signed autographs.
