"Leonardo da Vinci and the Splendor of Poland"
In Lady with an Ermine, a coolly elegant young woman of 500 years ago sits clutching a silky weasel. She is thought to be Cecilia Gallerani, the niece/mistress of Ludovico Sforza, the duke of Milan. (Apparently "niece" and "mistress" were not mutually exclusive titles in 15th-century Italy.) The Leonardo da Vinci painting is part of a traveling exhibition of art gathered from Polish collections. While Leonardo gets top billing, the work of artists such as Ingres, Bellotto and Vigée-Lebrun are also on view.
