Loco Comedy Jam

The original comedy cholo, Mike Robles, is back with the Loco Comedy Jam. Featuring Latino comics, Loco Comedy Jam offers cutting-edge ethnic humor with an insider’s twist. (“Mexican newspapers start every story with ‘You know what I heard?’”) This Houston show includes Robles headlining, Rene Garcia opening and special guest hosts The Mexicanz from the morning show on local 104.9 FM. Robles, an Emmy Award winner, says Houston is one of his favorite cities to play — because of our numerous and varied gentleman’s clubs. His visits don’t always turn out well (“You start drinking and [the women] look like J. Lo. I woke up the next morning and she looked more like Jay Leno.”), but he keeps trying. Robles’s humor centers around his relationships (“Never cheat on your woman. They’ll know it. They pick up vibes from the universe. They turn into satellites, picking up your signal — ‘De, de, de — he’s dancing at a club. De, de, de — his wedding ring is in his left pocket. De, de, de — he’s dancing with a skinny bitch with no titties.’”) or his lack thereof (“I’m looking for the right woman — one who doesn’t question anything. Do you know any?”). Sorry, Mike, actually we don’t, but we’ll be happy to watch while you try to find one.
