You haven't really heard the screeching wail of Jimi Hendrix's guitar in the Woodstock version of "Purple Haze" until you hear it come out of the mouth of comedian and human voice-box Michael Winslow. The guy best known for doing the funny sound effects in Police Academy movies and Geico commercials is back for a special run of performances at the Laff Spot. Winslow, who admittedly spent a lot of time in the principal's office as a kid, calls himself "the original voicestrumentalist," and says he can make more than 10,000 noises - from squishing, soggy sneakers to jets roaring to everything in between. His performances are a mix of stand-up comedy, impersonation, music and, of course, noises. 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m. Sunday. Laff Spot, 17776 State Highway 249. For tickets and information, call 281-955-9200 or visit www.laffspot.com. $20.
