Mozart in Vienna

The music Mozart composed while residing in Vienna is among his most popular of all time - as mainstream as it gets when it comes to classical. But even the most superior of music purists can't help but be awestruck all over again at hearing these compositions live, especially when they're played by some of the foremost Mozart experts out there. Swoon alongside them as Da Camera celebrates its opening night with Mozart in Vienna, featuring a performance of his String Quartet in C Major and Divertimento for String Trio in E-flat Major.

Leading the group will be Mozart specialist Krista Bennion Feeney, who's also concertmaster of New York's renowned Mostly Mozart Festival, and violist James Dunham, formerly of the Cleveland Quartet. The energetic, uplifting works will please both the Mozart-mad and just plain, regular folks. 7:30 p.m. Cullen Theater, Wortham Theater Center, 500 Texas. For information, call 713-524-5050 or visit $25 to $45.
Sat., Oct. 4, 7:30 p.m., 2008
