|Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear Announcement|
Nobody even flinched when Oprah Winfrey said, "I think we need a little bit more sanity in the world," on last night's Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Her huge head popped up behind Stewart's desk after Stephen Colbert made a guest appearance to beg Stewart to share his rally permit, therefore combining the "Rally to Restore Sanity" and the "March to Keep Fear Alive" into one event, the "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear."
Winfrey, who had recently had Stewart on her own show as a guest, and who's also known for giving her audiences extravagant gifts, told Stewart, "I had my staff sneak into your studio early this morning with a little gift." And she then told audience members to look under their seats, where they found red envelopes containing plane tickets to Washington D.C.
"You're going to the rally! You're going to the rally! Everybody's going to the rally! Now get out there and restore some sanity!" -- she yelled in her signature singy/shouty way.
After which Colbert said to Stewart: "Your rally is supposed to be about sanity, but that was insane."
No one really knows what this "rally" will be, but it's happening October 30 and will be broadcast on Comedy Central.
