Poison Pen Reading Series featuring Gulf Coast Magazine editors

This month’s Poison Pen Reading Series features writers who can do it in four minutes or less. (And, yes, we mean read.) The editors of University of Houston’s Gulf Coast Magazine will get three to four minutes each to share a short piece of poetry, fiction or nonfiction.

“It’s a great short-attention-span reading,” says Poison Pen co-founder Greg Oaks. “It’s got the spirit of slam poetry, only the writers are good.” (Zing!) Hold onto your pages when the readings start at 8:30 p.m. Poison Girl, 1641 Westheimer. For information, call 713-527-9929 or visit www.myspace.com/poisongirlbar. Free.
Thu., Dec. 4, 8:30 p.m., 2008
