Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience — A Parody by Dan and Jeff

Televangelist Pat Robertson once warned his followers about the dangers of reading the blockbuster book series Harry Potter. “The lady who wrote Harry Potter, I understand, was deeply involved in some of the occult things,” he said in 2011 on his 700 Club program. “You don’t need to involve yourself in witchcraft and the occult,” he went on to say. “It’s dangerous. It is seductive.” We wonder what Robertson would say about a two-man comedy show that condenses Rowling’s Potter books, all seven of them, into a drum-tight show interpreted by two actors.

Presented by the Brilliant Lecture Series, Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience — A Parody by Dan and Jeff, packs the entire seven-book story into 70 fast-paced minutes (do the math — that’s ten minutes per book). Improvisational actors Delme Thomas and James Percy conjure up some 360 Potter characters. This impressive hyper-shortened version of the series even includes a Quiddich match. Potted Potter makes digesting the series not only immensely entertaining but also incredibly efficient. Now that’s seductive.
