Last Saturday, Winter Street Studios hosted "Art On the Avenue," an event raising funds for Avenue CDC, an organization dedicated to improving Washington Avenue and the Near Northside community by developing affordable housing and increasing economic opportunities. Guests browsed the work of more than 200 Texas artists in a silent auction, and Ed Mazzu was the lucky winner of a 1952 original Henri Matisse lithograph in a raffle.
