Slideshow: Nestor Topchy's Funeral-Home Art Opening

Saturday night, well-known Houston artist Nestor Topchy exhibited his ongoing project, the "Iconic Portrait Strand", in a one-night-only event at Geo. H Lewis & Sons Funeral Home. The portraits, made to look like 800 year-old Byzantine icons, depict local artists and friends of Topchy's, including Andrea Grover, George Hixson, Hiram Butler and the Art Guys. The funeral-home atmosphere was both novel and respectful, giving the event a curious charge.
