Summer Sports Slam

Staying physically active in the summer can be unbearable in Houston; running around or chasing a ball is difficult when it’s 101 degrees, windless and people are beginning to sweat in places they didn’t even know they were able to. Space Center Houston is taking some — but not all — of the sweat and burn out of sports with its Summer Sports Slam.

The activities include virtual baseball, basketball and football and a DigiWall, along with actual physical games. In JumpShot Basketball, for in-stance, players can bounce up to three feet in the air from a trampoline to dunk like the NBA pros. And the 30-foot-long Human Foosball table uses tethers to strap players onto rows of bars, allowing them to move left and right and kick the foosball. Make a goal from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Through September 5. 1601 Nasa Parkway. For information, call 281-244-2100 or visit $16.95 to $20.95.
May 28-Sept. 5, 2011
