But a lot of his aquatic neighbors have more traditional homes and ways of life, as chronicled in the popular BBC/Discovery documentary series The Blue Planet. George Fenton was hired to create original music for the series, which he's adapted to a symphonic score. You can hear it - and see specially edited segments from the shows projected on a large screen - when the Houston Symphony, under the direction of conductor Brett Mitchell, presents The Blue Planet Live! And though some of the scenes show denizens of the deep, um, eating each other ("Seafood again tonight?"), there's also lots of footage showing exotic creatures and the beauty from down below. 7:30 p.m. Jones Hall, 615 Louisiana.
