The Houston Press Announces the 1st Annual Houston Theater Awards
Think Houston has a great theater scene? So do we. In order to recognize Houston's vibrant and ever expanding theater offerings, the Houston Press is initiating its first annual Houston Theater Awards recognizing the best local theater and opera offerings over the last year.
Tell us about your suggestions at firstname.lastname@example.org. A panel of theater-goers from the Houston Press will make the final selections, with winners and finalists announced in our August 23 issue and online. There'll be lots of awards, for both performing and technical excellence.
"This past season of theater in Houston has been complex, intense, profoundly sad, funny and sometimes breathtaking," says Houston Press Editor Margaret Downing. "We decided it was more than time to acknowledge the achievements of the Houston theater arts community."
Watch Art Attack for more information. We'll be publishing a complete list of categories here soon.
