The Money in Uncle George’s Suitcase

The play The Money in Uncle George’s Suitcase, written by local playwright Pat Cook, is a humorous look at the dysfunction of family life, especially when money gets involved. Long-winded old-timer George brings his family to his country cabin because he has something to share: his will. But when he accidentally lets slip that there is a suitcase containing $480,000 on the property, his intended weekend of family bonding turns into a frantic battle between his relatives to claim the cash. After a series of comedic quarrels and mishaps, the family finally begins to realize George’s real agenda. 8 p.m. May 28. Through June 19. Houston Family Arts Center, 10760 Grant Road.
