The NeverEnding Story and Everlasting Gobstoppers: Neither is true to its name, but both offer layer after layer of goodness. You can stock up on both today at Alamo Drafthouse-Mason Parks screening of the film, which tells the fanciful tale of Bastian, a preteen loner who steals a magical book and is soon literally sucked into its story. Inside the book, Bastian meets a warrior named Atreyu whos on a quest to save the land of Fantasia and its inhabitants, which include tiny men who ride snails and bats, a pair of gnomes, a child-like empress and, coolest of all, a flying dog dragon named Falkor. All are in danger of being destroyed by an invisible force known as The Nothing, which can only be defeated by a human boy (namely, Bastian). Will he be able to figure it out in time? Find out when the story breaks its titular promise and ends. 1 p.m. Saturday and today. 531 South Mason. For tickets and information, call 281-492-6900 or visit www.drafthouse.com/mason. $6.
