If you've never taken your kids to visit the Orange Show, then shame on you! Jeff McKissack's shrine to his favorite fruit is one of the coolest things in our sweltering city. This weekend, you'll have the perfect opportunity to make it up to your mistreated darlings at the Orange Show's Art Car Trophy Workshop, where plenty of volunteers are needed to help make campy prizes for this year's Art Car Parade. "We provide everything," says Adrian de la Cerda, program coordinator for the Orange Show. "Just bring your creativity." And even though you don't deserve it, we should tell you that parents often can't resist the fun. "What we see a lot is that parents come with their kids, and then the parents start to get bored, and next thing you know, they're putting together some really cool trophies," says de la Cerda. "They end up being the ones who get the most fun out of it." 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 20. 2402 Munger. For information, call 713-926-6368 or visit www.orangeshow.org. Free. - Keith Plocek

Disney starlet Hilary Duff has gone from wee Houstonian to household name overnight, parlaying her mammoth Lizzie McGuire TV success into a burgeoning film and music career. And she's done it all while keeping her clothes on (unlike, say, Britney, another Disney alum). That said, she's the fantasy du jour for teen boys. The 16-year-old brings her blond ambition home at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 19. Ford Arena, 5115 I-10. For information, call 713-629-3700. $29.50 to $39.50. - Steven Devadanam
We're not ones to judge. So if hottie Princess Rapunzel wants to outwit an evil witch and court a few studly princes -- just to possibly end up with a frog -- well, go 'head, girl! We've seen much worse on reality shows, anyway. Watch our fair maiden let down her hair and get the guy (or amphibian) in Company OnStage's two-in-one tale, Rapunzel & the Frog Prince. 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturdays, March 20 through May 1. 536 Westbury Square. For information, call 713-726-1219. $7. - Steven Devadanam
