Trumbo: Red, White and Blacklisted

Houston Theater Awards Best Supporting Actor nominee Carl Masterson stars as Dalton Trumbo in Trumbo: Red, White and Blacklisted. The legendary screenwriter behind Spartacus, Exodus and Roman Holiday, Trumbo was a member of the Communist Party during World War II. He was called before the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1947, but refused to give information. That decision cost him not only his freedom but in many ways a large segment of his career. Trumbo's son, Christopher, wrote Red, White and Blacklisted based on his father's letters, which were filled with biting wit, searing insight and not a little sadness at the state of the country’s political landscape. Cone Man Running Productions presents the regional premiere of Trumbo: Red, White and Blacklisted with Masterson, L. Robert Westeen and Casey Coale. Christine Weems directs.
