Vera Wang Wedding Dresses for $500 Thanks to New Site Borrowing Magnolia

Planning a wedding is all about romance, love, family and, of course, spending a lot of money. The average American wedding cost nearly $30,000 according to The Knot and the average wedding dress eats up nearly $2,000 of that budget. Set your sights on a high end designer dress, you are looking at a price tag in the $3,000 to $5,000 to start. So what does a bride with champagne wishes and a Kool Aid budget do? You rent! At least that is what the ladies of Borrowing Magnolia have in mind for those brides hunting for the look for less.

Launched just this year by friends Ashley Steele, Cali Brutz, and Stephanie Olvey, Borrowing Magnolia is the Netlfix for bridal gowns. Former brides looking to unload their wedding dress submit their gown for rental, current brides scroll through the online catalogue of available styles in their size. Once the current bride selects up to three styles she likes, they are shipped to her for a small fee applied to your final rental. If you find the gown you love, reserve it online and send everything back. Your cleaned and pristine gown will be delivered to you prior to your wedding day and once the extravaganza is over, you drop the gown in the mail and you are done. Brilliant.
