“Viewfinder: New Images by Texas Artists” Artist Talk

Get the scoop on the newest FotoFest exhibit during the “Viewfinder: New Images by Texas Artists” artist talk with participating photographers, including Austin’s Ben Aqua, who will discuss two groups of his photos, his series depicting an apocalyptic Utopia and his Veronica series of situational portraits. Dallasite Beau Comeaux will reveal the thinking behind his large-format night photographs, many of which have a horror-movie vibe. Slaton’s Robin Dru Germany will examine his microscopic shots of nature, and Austin’s Ivan Lozano will talk about his images from 1960s gay film comedies, which he has created as a memorial to AIDS victims. Photographers Justin Parr and Ansen Seale also participate in today’s artist talk at 2 p.m. 1113 Vine Street. For information, call 713-223-5522 or visit www.fotofest.org. Free.
