Be there for the first ever Yaga's Chili Quest and Beer Fest on Galveston Island. For this contest, anything containing any meat and beans qualifies as chili, and there's an exotic division. So while you'll be sure to taste the usual beef, turkey and venison, there'll also probably be some squirrel, alligator, rattlesnake and ostrich. The judges will be handing out prizes all afternoon, including one for Best Margarita, and there's also a jalapeo-eating contest. There are also special People's Choice Awards, so visitors get to weigh in on their favorites. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saengerfest Park, Galveston. For information, call 409-762-6676 or visit www.galveston.com. Free.
