Dry Creek

Dry Creek

544 Yale St.

Houston, TX 77007

713-426-2313

Map & Details>>

Sure, you can't drink here — but beer and wine will only fill you up, and you want to have plenty of room for all the delicious menu items at Dry Creek. Try a flavored limeade instead of a mixed drink as you dip into their fried goodies, tasty burgers and a great salad (order it with the creamy serrano dressing). Right on Yale, the place has a great patio and a nice indoor atmosphere too, and it's great for lunch or a lazy dinner. It's just a few blocks away from its boozy counterpart, Onion Creek. Hey, you can go out for drinks afterward. But if you can't wait, the BYOB rule is in full effect.

I love the food in this place (esp. the Vera's burger) but I haven't darkened the door in a long time, fearing they haven't gotten rid of the 19 year old Seating Nazi.

Can't remember which door to go in (yes, this changes) on a weekend/weekday? Prepare to be amazed at how bad customer service can be.

Funny... I have been here a few times... and had great service and great food. Atmosphere is great...I went there todayfor a client lunch... 4/25/08 and it was fine~ waitstaff was friendly.. food great.. and we didn't wait long. Different strokes for different folks....I suppose~ :)

The service here has been terrible the three times I have tried eating here. The food is marginal at best. The patio is fine for sitting around waiting to start enjoying yourself. Do yourself a favor and pass on this place. Onion Creek is, in spite of the occasional lines, a million times better.

I want to like this place, I want to love it but I cannot. They cannot decide which door to host the crowd, never know where to seat you, treat you as an after-thought and the food is only slightly better than Applebees!

Sorry, but you swung and missed on this one! I have tried it 4 different times with the same lousy result each time.

GeeI wonder if someone made-up this category to get them an award? This is a good place, but the service is so bad (almost non-existent) that they should give it an award for bad service.
