We went to Sambuca last Friday night for monthly "date night" and had an absolute blast. It was the first of I'm sure many many visits. We didn't know what to expect, but band were seated at a nice table with a view of the stage and enjoyed a fantastic dinner. I had steak (wow is all I can say) and he had some sort of seafood tower that was nothing short of amazing. As we were finishing dinner (we got there a bit early - around 6:30) the greatest band came on called Hamilton Loomis and what a show. We sat at the bar and nearly closed the place down - having something they called a "small plate" (looked like big appetizer to me) again around 11 pm ish. Was glad and surprised the kitchen was still open to accomodate my late night munchies after dancing like a fool for hours. Highly recommend this place and that band! Will be back for next month's date night!

Sambuca Jazz Cafe
Live jazz, seven nights a week, in Houston? Look no further than Sambuca. Set in an oasis of dark woods and white linen with the occasional tiger print thrown in, Sambuca features local singers, like the sultry Yvonne Washington and Tianna Hall, and high-energy Houston bands, like the Blue Monks and the Mark Dini Group. The bar also regularly plays host to international acts such as Acoustic Alchemy and Larry Carlton. Want to dance? Sambuca's got you covered. In the mood to just sit back and listen? No problem. The monthly music calendar has something for everyone's taste. Sambuca's menu is a great complement to the music onstage (don't miss the miso sea bass).
