Generally speaking, anyone out at 4:30 a.m. is up to no good. Be they druggie, thief, insomniac or just seriously craving some queso, night owls can direct themselves to this eclectic Heights establishment. Spanish Flowers dishes up authentic Mexican cuisine for an impressively affordable price. Sure, it's no Taco Bell, but as everyone knows, coke hangovers and fast food do not mix well when you've been running from the cops all night in a stolen Ford Focus. Spanish Flowers is one of the worst Mexican Restaurants in Houston. I can't believe it made this list. The food is bland and the sevice is horrible, I'm still looking for something good beyond the "authentic neighboorhood" which is scary!!! Give La Tapetilla, Ruchi's, or Cancun a shot if you really want some good mexican food.
Wow...Best of? This is Tex-Mex Denny's, at best. All my Mexican friends and co-workers agree; thier food is nasty. Ambiance and atmosphere aside ('cos at 3AM, what does it matter?) what you get on the table, serverd up by a hispanic version of Flo, will leave you wishing you would have just gone for "Moon's Over My Hammy" and called it a night.
Ok, it's good Tex-Mex food but the service can be the worst in Houston! If you get one of the "elderly" ladies there is a 50 - 50 chance that you will get the wrong order! But, the food is solid and for late night there is little else to select from.
Shrimp tacos are the bomb! Cabbage, seasoning, corn tortillas. AWESOME!!! Good family restaurant. Service is excellent! Much better than Ruggles Cafe and Bakery on Rice where staff members steel customers Blackberry's!
