I think bubba's girl is/was one of those diggers and that's where she found her "non-bubba" who's probably paying her way. No one would have taken such offense if it was otherwise. As for Bob's, truth is in the puddin, Bob's couldn't make it in a steak town. Bye-Bye Bob, hope you and bubba's girl have a great time in DallASS.
Best Steakhouse Houston 2007 - Bob's Steak & Chop House
The wet-aged USDA Prime porterhouse here is one of the best steaks in the city. But it's the lack of snobbery that puts Bob's ahead of the steakhouse pack. The Houston Bob's is a clone of the original Bob's in Dallas, where the bar always seems to be crowded with flirty blonds and Bubbas in cowboy boots who laugh real loud. At the Houston location, the guys in starched shirts and ties, the ladies in sexy designer dresses and the guys in pastel hip-hop shorts and sandals all seem to get along just fine. Try a martini — the house gin is Beefeater. There's sports on the television, free pickles on the table and your choice of potatoes on the plate with your steak. Best of all, the waiter seems just as happy to bring you a beer as a $200 bottle of wine. READERS' CHOICE: Pappas Bros. Steakhouse
"Bubba's girl" has a curious perspective on the comparative atmosphere of this establishment. Rather than retaining an objective viewpoint, it would seem our naive Bubbette fell completely (and conveniently) for Dallas' inferiority complex-fed disinformation campaign about the characteristics of Houstonians.
The howler is how she doesn't notice her own contradictions, ensuing from her bias. Claiming that people go to Bob's in Dallas only "to eat and drink", as opposed to the shallow "gold-diggers and rednecks" going to Houston Bob's to meet 'rent payers' and 'arm charms', all the while boasting of "rock stars, politicians and sports figures in the Bob's in Dallas", she reveals herself as...well, you fill in the blank.
What do you figure the odds are our little Bubbette's follicles are the same color as her split ends?
What a great steakhouse! I had a party of 4 with perfect drinks and apetizers at the bar. Once our reservations came up and we were seated then we were smitten with the true atmosphere and service from this wonderful resturant. The service was outstanding (I think at one time we had 3 serving out table). One thing to say here. Go and enjoy.
Only a Dallasite would write a commentary like that at 5 o'clock in the frigiin' morning......... Must be just coming in from a hard night. Bob's in Houston has people made of flesh and blood unlike the plastic mannequins dining in Dallas.
Have you ever been to the Bob's in Dallas? My boyfriend lives up there and we go regularly to both the Houston and Dallas Bob's. My boyfriend is so far from a Bubba, he's a Yankee with a NE look and attitude. I'm not sure where you get the "flirty blonds and Bubbas" because Bob's in Dallas has less gold-diggers and rednecks than the Houston restaurant. You will frequently see rock stars, politicians and sports figures in the Bob's in Dallas, pretty much on any given night you will recognize someone in there. People aren't going to the Bob's in Dallas to meet a "rent payer" or an "arm charm" they are going there to eat and drink. The atmosphere is much more "steakhouse" in Dallas and a lot less "see and be seen" place full of "wanna-be's" like the Houston Bob's. Houston is a follower as usual!
