Readers' Choice: READERS' CHOICE: Montrose Veterinary Clinic

Kind, compassionate and cost-effective, the Montrose Veterinary Clinic has been in business since the Jimmy Carter administration, and the clinic has won several national awards, for both design and performance. Now home to six vets, the clinic offers not just the standard array of healthcare services for cats, dogs and small mammals — diagnostics, surgery, emergency treatment — but also acupuncture and high-tech ultrasound and telemedicine services. That's all well and good, but what most pet owners love about Montrose Vets is the genuine sense of caring you get from all the employees, from the honest smiles from the tattooed ladies at the front desk to the follow-up calls from your vet after your pet is recovering at home.

I had no idea that ultrasounds worked for animals too! Initially, I would've thought their fur would get in the way. It's interesting how we've found a way around that. It makes me glad that all animals are put into such great care when with a veterinarian. http://www.keebovet.com

Interesting, I didn't know you could get acupuncture for animals. This is the first time I have ever heard of this being done by a vet. It is amazing to see the possibilities nowadays that can be done on our pets.  http://animalclinicofbuena.com/services.html

Places like this are necessary to everyone with a pet. Many people consider their pets in the same way they consider their family members. They would do anything to keep them healthy and happy. There aren't enough places that offer the life-saving and life-improving procedures that animals need to be happy.

@sijamesmon I feel that our pets are simply a member of the family. They require care just like any of us; having access to medical care when needed is essential to keeping your pet healthy. It is very exciting to see that there are animal hospitals that can provide essential medical treatments for pets.

Congratulations on winning the "Best of Houston" award. My little Oscar will have to give you a try when we move there later this year. Don't be offended if he doesn't approve. He can be very picky about the way he is handled. We have been through almost every veterinarian in our our current city.

It's always good to find so many vets out there doing such a good job for us. I really like it when I know I can go somewhere close when there's a problem with my dog. I wouldn't know what to do if my puppy was hurt and I couldn't take care of him. That would be awful for me.
