The Aeros, who going into last week were 2-6-1-0 on the road, found themselves starting a long month in which most of their games would be on the road. So how did the Aeros handle the start of their trip? How about with two victories over the Manitoba Moose?

The Aeros got a shootout victory Friday night, winning 2-1. Goalie Nolan Schaefer got his third straight win in stopping 28 of 29 shots. The only regulation goal for the Aeros came from Danny Irmen. Then, with the score tied 1-1 through overtime, the game went into the shootout, where Ryan Hamilton and Morten Madsen found the net for the Aeros.
The Aeros won their fourth straight game, and second on the road, Saturday night, this time defeating the Moose 4-3. Steve Kelly scored two goals. Serge Payer, returning from injury, got a goal, and Cal Clutterbuck got the other. Benoit Pouliot, also returning from injuries, had two assists.
This winning streak has improved the team’s record to 12-10-1-1. The Aeros have moved from last place to seventh in the Western Division of the Western Conference. They are, however, only mere points away from being in fourth.
The Aeros play Wednesday night in Connecticut, where they take on the Hartford Wolf Pack. The Aeros won’t play again in Houston until Saturday, December 22. – John Royal
