Choose Your Own Astros Marketing Slogan
Hey kids, guess what. We’re going to have a little contest here at Houstoned Ballz. As you know, baseball season is just around the corner, which means that soon the Astros will be putting billboards up all over the city with a stupid little marketing slogan attempting to entice you to spend your weekly wages for a game at MMP. Last year’s slogan, I’m sure you remember, was “Return of the Good Guys.”
Well, we all know how well those good guys did last year. So it’s time for something a little different. And while I’ve no clue what the ‘Stros are contemplating, I thought I would lend a little hand and see if we can get them something good.
So, here’s the deal. I’m going to be the judge of this thing. The submitted slogan that I think is best will win a Houston Press T-shirt and whatever else I convince the bosses to part with.
Just go the comments portion of the blog and give me your suggestions and I’ll be sure to read them. If any of you really feel strongly about someone’s suggestion, then let me know that, too.

There are just two ground rules: The cutoff for suggestions is Friday, February 29, 2008, and the suggestion must be posted by 5:00 p.m. Also, I want something that could actually go on a billboard or a bumper sticker, so no profane, racist, sexist or homophobic suggestions. I will announce the winner on Monday, March 3, 2008, so be sure to leave your email address in the form below. (We promise not to send you any spam.)
Except for the ground rules stated above, nothing is off-limits, so have at it. – John Royal
