Hunter Pence, a Hot Tub, and a Lot of Broken Glass
Okay, Cecil Cooper might talk about how he’s going to stress the fundamentals this season. But with one player, it might already be too late.
Hunter Pence missed a decent amount of time last season, his rookie year, because of an injury to his wrist that he suffered while sliding into second base. And the team admitted that Pence didn't possess the best of form when it came to sliding into bases. So, it can be argued that, by teaching fundamentals, Pence might learn how to properly slide.
Except that last night he suffered injuries to his hands and knees sliding into a glass door.
I'm taking the charitable view and go along with Pence's story. That he was going to the bathroom before hitting the hot tub. And that he didn't know his friend shut the door. I know what a religious bunch of good guys the Astros are, so I'll say there was no alcohol involved.
I just wish someone would teach him how to slide already. – John Royal
