It's Going to Be an Ugly Month for the Astros
I decided to listen to Dave Raymond and Brett Dolan’s radio broadcast of the Astros game. I did hear some info from the game, but the main thing that I heard was these two guys bitching about the location of the press box in the stadium in which the Washington Nationals will be playing next season. Apparently, it’s too high up for them. They’re going to have trouble seeing things.
I ask this: Do these guys realize what pricks they sound like when they bitch about the location of the press box? First, they’re getting paid to go to a game. Second, the location of the press box, even if it is high up, will still be better than the location of most of the seats in the stadium. If these guys want to sit in some bad seats, they ought to go sit in Drayton’s cheap seats way up in MMP’s left field corner.
Oh, and some words about the game.
The Astros lost. Again. That’s the fourth straight loss since the All-Star Game. That’s the seventh straight road loss. The Astros record now drops to 39-53. I tell ya, I have more faith in Dubya’s Iraq surge working than I do in the Astros surging toward the playoffs.
The final score was 4-3. Chad Cordero, the Nationals’ closer, struck out the final two Astros, Luke Scott and Craig Biggio, on pitches on the outer corner. Pitches at which they didn’t even swing.
The ‘Stros have two more games in D.C., with Chris Sampson and Jason Jennings starting, before heading to Pittsburgh to finish out the road trip. But things won’t be improving once the team returns home. The Astros will play seven games at home, against the top two teams in the NL West, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres, then the Astros finish out July in Atlanta.
