The college football season just gets better as the weeks progress. We might have thought that last weekend was upset weekend, but nothing can quite compare with Saturday’s upsets. After the games, there are now ten teams in the AP Top 25 that were not there when the season began. And four of these teams are sitting in the Top 10.
Before I get to the Texas schools, let’s hit some of the national games.
For instance, No. 2 ranked and unbeaten USC lost in a huge upset to Stanford. Stanford defeated USC 24-23 with Stanford QB Tavita Pritchard tossing a ten-yard TD pass on fourth and goal with 49 seconds left in the game. USC had been a 41-point favorite going into the game. Stanford scored 17 points in the fourth quarter, and the loss breaks USC’s 35-game winning streak in Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
