Yet Another Longhorn Player Arrested. No, Not Tyrell Gatewood. That's Old News. This Time It's Peter Gardere.
Because it's a cruel thing to do, and because I hate the University of Texas, I've got to let you know the Austin police were really busy last night. Not only did they arrest backup Longhorn safety Tyrell Gatewood on drug charges, they also got former UT quarterback Peter Gardere.
Gardere, who played at UT from 1989 to 92 and is so far the only UT QB to lead the Horns to victory over Oklahoma four straight times, was arrested for DWI.
I'm beginning to think there's something in the water in Austin. -- John Royal
