2001: A Space Odyssey
Stanley Kubrick certainly knows how to make a movie stick. When it was released back in 1968, 2001: A Space Odyssey was revolutionary. Now, 42 years later, the film continues to have quite an impact on audiences. Before there was CGI, Kubrick managed to make space travel look futuristic and believable at the same time. 2001: A Space Odyssey is an example of just how many tricks a talented director has up his sleeve. A large part of the film's success also comes from Arthur C. Clarke's story; we go from the dawn of time to the age of space travel, shifting between black monoliths and the battle between supercomputer HAL 9000 and astronaut Dave. 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
