39th Annual Jewish Book & Arts Fair: Local Literati
There will be plenty of celebrities at the 39th Annual Jewish Book & Arts Fair, with more than 40 readings, films and performances planned. Among the most popular events is sure to be Local Literati, a presentation of Houston writers including Judith Groudine Finkel, the author of the novel Where Danger Lurks, the story of a woman whose life is thrown into turmoil when her husband is accused of sexually molesting a little girl. Other authors include Alan Berkowitz (The Jazz Girls and the Flyboy: A Jewish Saga of WWII and Israel), Lasker Meyer (Images of America: Foley’s) and Melissa Binstock (Nourishment: Feeding My Starving Soul when My Mind and Body Betrayed Me). 6:15 p.m. Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center, 5601 South Braeswood.
